The sides and back of the Yamaha AC1M are made of mahogany, and the top is made from hand-selected Sitka spruce. The distinctive body shape is combined with the SRT pickup and System 66 analog preamp to deliver rich, bright sound.
Solid wood top
The top of the AC1M is made from solid Sitka Spruce. This wood is lightweight and delivers rich sound with good response. The sides and back are made of mahogany, rosewood.
Updated System66 pickup
For easy access, the controls of the built-in piezoelectric transducer are located on the upper side of the shell of the instrument. The battery compartment is located on the same side next to the neck for easier battery replacement.
System66 includes a unique Yamaha-developed piezoelectric pickup located under the saddle. The panel contains three-band equalizer control knobs (with parametric mids) and a chromatic tuner for the most accurate tuning. The system is powered by AA finger-type batteries to maintain optimal power for quality sound.
