sE Electronics 2200
Renowned for its use by world-class vocalists such as Amy Winehouse, the sE Electronics 2200 revives the spirit of classic studio microphones and remains the standard around the world. Modern components and a shorter, optimized signal path provide even better performance and clarity, a switchable attenuator and low-pass filter increase its versatility, and the fit and finish have been updated with the latest sE technology, but the sE2200 retains the classic original sound. Although the sE2200 is only a cardioid microphone, two (instead of one) gold-plated diaphragms are used to provide the best acoustic performance. Each capsule is hand-made and individually tuned at its own sE factory in Shanghai - and unlike other backplane or electret microphones, the sE2200 has an external polarized capacitor capsule, thus providing the best performance in all aspects.
The SE2200 microphone has -10 dB and -20 dB switches that provide extended dynamic range, allowing you to use a variety of applications and even the loudest instruments such as heavy electric guitars, wind instruments and drums. The SE2200 has two switchable low-pass filters (80 Hz or 160 Hz) that help eliminate extraneous hum and noise, as well as compensate for excessive bass (proximity effect) when the microphone is close.
