The Zoom H4essential recorder is a portable 4-channel digital recording studio that delivers perfect sound quality without the need for input gain adjustment thanks to 32-bit floating-point recording. The device supports WAV, BWF, and iXML formats for professional recording.
The Zoom H4essential features two XLR/TRS combo inputs with phantom power support (48V) and a professional +4dBu line input. The built-in X/Y microphones are capable of recording sound with a sound pressure level of up to 130 dB, making them ideal for recording loud events such as rock concerts. The unit also has a 3.5mm mic/line input for connecting lapel microphones and a built-in mixer for adjusting the volume of each track. For monitoring, there is a 3.5 mm line output for headphones. Zoom H4essential can be used as a 32-bit audio interface for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android via the USB-C port, allowing simultaneous recording and streaming of sound.
This recorder is compatible with the Bluetooth adapter BTA-1 (sold separately), which allows you to connect it to iOS devices. The available LCD displays information about the recording process. A feature of this recorder is the availability of voice instructions for people with visual impairments, which allows them to easily navigate the menu using audio descriptions.
The dimensions of the Zoom H4essential are 67x156x38 mm, and the weight is 243 grams, which makes it compact and convenient for transportation.
