The Shure KSM9 is a premium vocal condenser microphone that captures the subtlety of vocals with extraordinary detail, delivering clear articulation, versatility, and accurate vocal reproduction. The KSM9 is the first portable dual-diaphragm condenser microphone with variable polarity. Designed to exacting standards, the KSM9 brings out nuance and subtlety in a microphone optimized for the most demanding live environments. With its dual diaphragm design and switchable polar pattern (supercardioid/cardioid), the KSM9 is the best choice for the world's most accomplished vocal performances. The cardioid pickup pattern is ideal for live performances with in-ear headphones, providing a warm and full sound. This setting provides excellent pre-feedback gain with minimal off-axis coloration. The supercardioid pickup pattern provides maximum sound isolation and is ideal for applications with high ambient noise levels or where multiple instruments or vocalists are close together.

The KSM9 is available in two variants with unique switchable polar patterns and a variety of finishes. The KSM9HS features both hypercardioid and subcardioid pickup patterns with black coating. The KSM9/CG features both cardioid and supercardioid pickup patterns with a charcoal gray finish.
