The Shure RPW170 replacement microphone element replaces a damaged or defective KSM8 Dualdyne cardioid microphone with KSM8 dynamic capsule and will fit other Shure nickel transmitter microphones. This dual-diaphragm microphone capsule (one active and one passive) is designed for vocal reproduction in sound reinforcement applications such as live performances at top-level professional venues. One of the most innovative cardioid capsules Shure has developed to date, the Dualdyne cartridge virtually eliminates proximity effects. It handles off-axis while maintaining the signal purity typical of condenser microphones without processing, as well as the robustness of dynamic microphone feedback control. The dent-resistant, hardened carbon steel grille construction, lined with hydrophobic woven fabric, provides exceptional blast and wind protection while providing virtually waterproof protection.
