Yamaha MG12XUK
Yamaha has been creating great products of the highest quality for over a century. The third generation of MG series mixing consoles embodies Yamaha's dedication to excellence and is built using the same technologies as professional high-end consoles, including discrete studio-quality preamps, powerful digital processing and a durable, robust design.
MG Series consoles feature an intuitive and easy-to-use interface and are available in 6 to 20 channel versions so that everyone can find the right model for their needs. Whether for sound installations, recording or live events, these mixers' robust design and design flexibility let you quickly and easily achieve best-in-class sound quality!
Mic preamps D-Pre
The new MG series mixing consoles are equipped with high quality studio grade discrete D-PRE Class A preamps developed by Yamaha. The preamps operate on an inverse Darlington circuit consisting of two transistors in series, resulting in increased signal level at lower impedance. Delivering natural fat bass and smooth open highs with very low distortion, D-PREs are capable of operating over an unusually wide frequency range. Thus, this indicates the ability to easily "digest" a signal from any source without excessive "coloring" and retaining all the nuances of its original waveform. Having such a “clean” linear sound platform will save you time, eliminating the unnecessary EQ and effects processing often needed to “cure” a mix.
High quality operational amplifiers
The MG series mixing consoles are equipped with the new high quality MG01 operational amplifier, co-developed with the semiconductor manufacturer specifically for this series of consoles.
While most op-amps are focused on electrical design and efficiency, the manufacturer and I focused primarily on sound quality.
The MG01 features a redesigned circuitry that optimizes internal components and wiring using high quality silicon and copper wiring for maximum audio detail.
Phantom power and discrete desensitization
Equipped with phantom power, the MG-series consoles let you take full advantage of the increased frequency response and high sensitivity of condenser microphones.
The input channels of the consoles allow you to connect sources of both mic and line levels. And the PAD switch lowers the input sensitivity for high-level signals, which is often the case with backed-up instruments during performance. This function will avoid clipping and sound distortion.
Built-in effects processor SPX
Competent processing of effects always gives the mix a polish and professionalism, whether it is musical material or not. X / XU MG models are equipped with Yamaha SPX digital multi-effects processors, offering a versatile collection of 24 effects. SPX will help color your mix, adding depth to your speech programs and atmosphere to a live band performance. In particular, high-quality reverb and delay expand the spatial boundaries of sound with genuine realism and naturalism.
The MG12XU can even connect an optional FC5 footswitch to activate and deactivate the effect.
Compressors
Compressors play a defining role in almost any recording or sound reinforcement task, adjusting the dynamics of the audio signal to "liven up" guitars, thicken bass lines, make snare drum sound more constricted, and even out loud vocals. At the same time, it can take hours to get remote rivers with compressors to work effectively.
An innovation from Yamaha, single knob compressors are now the industry standard. These intelligent compressors add optimal compression for a variety of input sources with just one control.
Equalizers
There is nothing more useful than reliable equalization when you need to precisely control all the nuances of the sound. The MG Series reflects Yamaha's unique expertise in professional audio equipment. The latter feature 3-band EQs on all mono channels for precise control over the sound. And a high-pass filter (HPF) removes low-frequency hum from the stage for smoother, cleaner sound.
Convenient and easy to read LED level indication allows you to quickly monitor signal levels.
Metal case
With robust, impact-resistant powder-coated steel housings, MG consoles offer an unrivaled level of reliability. The body and the main panel, made in a laconic contoured design for optimal heat transfer, are separated from the power supply. This helps reduce noise for analog circuits and improve component life. Placing the control knobs above the surface of the chassis ensures that any impact or pressure on the knobs will not affect the board or components inside.
24bit / 192kHz USB audio interface
The MG-series mixing consoles are equipped with a high-quality digital audio interface for high-quality digital content playback. Simply connect the MG to your computer via USB or to an iPhone / iPad (2nd generation and above) using the Apple`s Camera Connection Kit / Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. The USB protocol uses asynchronous data transfer. The audio data transmission is controlled by a high-precision clock generator built into the MG for stable and high quality audio reproduction and recording.
Cubase AI
MG consoles abbreviated as XU come with downloadable Steinberg Cubase AI software. One of the most advanced and comprehensive DAW applications, Steinberg Cubase AI is a powerful and flexible music production platform.
