Electro-Voice RE90BW
The Electro-Voice RE90BW is part of the RE Series of architectural microphones and is highly immune to radio frequency interference (RFI/GSM) thanks to EV's exclusive RF Shield technology. The RE90BW is a full-range condenser microphone designed for use in surface-mounted systems such as distance learning centers, video conferencing, teleconferencing and sound reinforcement systems. The polar pattern of the microphone is semi-cardioid, which contributes to good gain before feedback and suppression of ambient noise. All boundary type microphones operating on a flat surface are characterized by an increase in microphone sensitivity with increasing frequency, which is called the baffle effect. To combat this effect, the RE90BW microphone features internal equalization to provide a flat response response. The RE90BW microphone is designed to be powered by an external 9-52 VDC phantom power supply. The RE90BW microphone is housed in a heavy-duty die-cast zinc housing, protected by a durable perforated steel shield. The microphone body is designed to perform two distinctive functions. First, when mounted permanently, the housing is electronically isolated from the surface on which it is mounted, thanks to a rubber friction pad and internal fiber washers. Second, the miniature microphone cable can be routed directly from the back of the microphone, or the cable can be routed from the bottom of the microphone through the table top without exposing the microphone cable. The microphone cable connects to the microphone via an internal tamper-proof terminal block. For permanent installation, a drilling template is included in the delivery. The RE90BW is designed as a low profile case. The RE90BW is impact-resistant thanks to a combination of a heavy-duty die-cast housing, a rubber anti-slip bottom pad, and internal microphone and circuit board insulation. This combination of insulation minimizes the mechanical coupling of surface vibrations to the microphone. The RE90BW is supplied with a miniature shielded two-wire cable, 3 m (10 ft) long, with an XLR connector.
