PRS Silver Sky (Tungsten)
PRS Guitars appreciate and love guitarists all over the world. One of the reasons why the PRS Guitars brand is so highly regarded is certainly that Paul Reed Smith has sought the views of professional guitarists to continually improve his electric guitars. He visited the bands and musicians at their concerts and let them try the PRS guitars backstage.
Carlos Santana, John Mayer, Mark Tremonti, Mark Holcomb of Periphery, Zach Myers of Shinedown, Jimmy Herring, Orianthi, David Grissom, Blake Shelton, Martin Simpson, and Tony McManus are among the artists currently playing PRS instruments and/or amplifiers.
The PRS Silver Sky is an idealized version of the classic single coil guitar, where every detail folds in and sets this model apart from the crowd of the past
Silver Sky is the result of a close collaboration between Grammy-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. The PRS Silver Sky combines the favorite elements of Mayer and Smith from 1963 and 1964 instruments to meet modern demands, and conveys the warmth and intimacy of an "old" guitar with the sophistication of a new instrument.
Some of Silver Sky's other unique features include neck shape, tuning pegs, bridge, pickups, and neck finishes
The headstock is based on the PRS trademark design, but inverted to match Mayer's playing style and to maintain constant string length at the fretboard for better tuning stability. The tuners are traditional closed-type mechanics in a vintage style, but with a PRS locking mechanism. The steel tremolo uses the patented PRS design and includes the Gen III blade screws. Flush with the body in neutral, the tremolo bridge only lowers the tone, and the increased bridge-to-body contact allows the guitar itself to be acoustically louder, which in turn improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the singles. The 635JM pickups are very round and plump, with a musical top that is never "sharp" or cocky.
This version has a rosewood fretboard
Other high quality components include a bone nut, a molded metal socket plate (curved for easy plugging and unplugging), redesigned knobs, and a PRS double-acting truss rod (accessible from the front of the neck for easy adjustment).
Premium PRS case included.
