Tone Report Reviews the Source Audio Mercury Flanger

Sam Hill over at Tone Report Magazine has great things to say about the Mercury Flanger in his review.

Sam had this to say about the Mercury Flanger:

"The Mercury control layout is simple and intuitive. Depth, Speed, Resonance, and Delay knobs control their given parameters, while the tri-mode selector switch offers Classic, Thru-Zero, and Shadow variations. Classic is just that, delivering the oft-used flanger sounds of yore. Thru-Zero is Source Audio’s take on tape flange, and it is delightful. Lastly, Shadow mode takes you into jet plane takeoff territory.

Classic mode sounds great with overdrive and distortion, giving added depth and dimension to chunky riffage and leads. Shadow mode adds turbulence to your tone and there are some rad settings to be found. It would be a great choice for a dramatic opening or closing passage. My personal favorite setting is Thru-Zero, which instantly offered delicious whooshes similar to the modulated tones of the Smashing Pumpkins circa Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. With a short delay and ambient reverb, I achieved some of the most beautiful, haunting clean sounds that have ever left my fingertips."
