J-LEW: Rick Camp, Jennifer Lopez and LEWITT

J-LEW: Rick Camp, Jennifer Lopez and LEWITT

As a front-of-house engineer, LEWITT endorser Rick Camp gets around quite a bit. That’s no big surprise, since his credits include Madonna, Beyoncé, Anita Baker, Natalie Cole, Destiny’s Child, Chris Brown and Burt Bacharach. And now, he’s on the road again as the FOH engineer for Jennifer “J-Lo” Lopez’s Dance Again World Tour.

Lewitt Authentica LCT 940 review at Recording Magazine

Lewitt Authentica LCT 940 review at Recording Magazine

In our February 2012 issue, we took our first look at a mic from Austrian maker Lewitt. The mic under review was Lewitt’s feature-packed, impeccably built and wonderful sounding flagship, the Authentica LCT 640 multi-pattern condenser mic. In our February 2013 issue we looked at the equally unique DTP 640 REX kick drum mic, which housed a cardioid condenser and a dynamic element inside one body; the elements could be mixed and blended together, with their sounds controlled by a unique set of character switches. From just those two models Lewitt have established an identity with our readers, with sonic versatility and build quality as its major tenets. This month we look at the company’s newest flagship, the Authentica LCT 940.

LEWITT rocks. New Endorsement: Oomph!

LEWITT rocks. New Endorsement: Oomph!

For 23 years now, DERO (vocals, drums), CRAP (guitar, drums) and FLUX (guitar, samples) have been rocking the world’s stages as Oomph! And ever since the band’s first album, Oomph! has pretty much defied all attempts to cubbyhole it into a definite genre. But why should anyone even try? Oomph! stands for itself: German guitar rock that does whatever it wants. If it wants to mate up with electro, industrial or even an accordion, then it just does so. And it’s good that way…

Home studio from

Home studio from "A" to "Z"

Digital technologies had turned sound recording from an unattainable dream, as it was before, to an affordable reality. Now you do not need to go to a professional studio to record a band demo or play back for live performance. The studio may be placed at your apartment or room. In this article I will talk about equipment you will need for this.
